Modernize an aging Jenkins controller by upgrading core and plugins, implementing JCasC, and hardening the platform. Migrate from AWS Docker Swarm to an on-prem K3s + Helm deployment while retaining scalable cloud agents and improving reliability and security.

Goals:

  • →Upgrade Jenkins core and plugins to a supported LTS with JCasC and tighter security.
  • →Introduce a two-tier (dev->prod) promotion workflow for safe testing and rollouts.
  • →Migrate the Jenkins controller from AWS Swarm to on-prem K3s + Helm to cut cost while keeping elastic cloud agents.

A single production Jenkins on Docker Swarm with outdated plugins created security risk and CI/CD outages. Cloud costs are high, and there’s no safe dev-to-prod path for testing upgrades; we need expertise to design and migrate to an on-prem K3s-based, auditable setup without disrupting delivery.
